Meet our latest recruit to the Marlow FM volunteers, Fran Stafford, who has joined our Choice Classics pool of presenters.
Fran has recently graduated from Royal Holloway University of London, where she sang as a Choral Scholar in the Choir of Royal Holloway. There she enjoyed both singing in concert and training in ensemble skills with the King's Singers and Eric Whitacre. Fran has also had ensemble training with members of The Sixteen, Eamonn Dougan and Sally Dunkley. She sang in the Royal Albert Hall’s 2015 Festival of Remembrance, broadcast live on BBC1, and performed at the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Magna Carta Festival, attended by The Royal Family and the Prime Minister.
Fran enjoys singing in live broadcasts, notably on Radio 3, with the Britten Sinfonia, the Choir of Royal Holloway, and the international Jazz Trio Acoustic Triangle. She also sung in the UK premier of James Macmillan’s St. Luke Passion, which was performed in the Barbican, and broadcast on Radio 3 from King’s College, Cambridge. Fran has recorded 3 Albums under Hyperion label with the Choir of Royal Holloway.
Fran has a life-long passion for music and we're really pleased to have such an enthusiastic and talented Marlovian as a presenter on Marlow FM.
